A company name or domain works. City and state help.
People search, as is
The importer detects company, domain, city and state.
How research works
Where the business says it is.
Scout reads the places a company publishes its own address, most official first.
- 1The official website. Contact and locations pages.
- 2The LinkedIn company page. Headquarters and listed locations.
- 3Business listings and directories.
- 4State business registry filings.
Evidence
Every address shows its work.
Each found address carries the links Scout used and the text it quoted, shown in review as "Where this came from".
Pay only for mailable addresses.
One credit per mailable address.
Held, failed and not-found results are free, and so are addresses you upload or type. Unused credits roll over, and research pauses when they run out.
One lookup per company
Research is cached per company and place. Each mailable contact still uses its own credit.
Reuse costs nothing
Attach a researched list from Leads to another campaign at no new credit cost.
When research comes up empty
Nothing mails to a guess.
If Scout can't stand behind an address, the contact is marked not found or held, with the reason. Type in an address you know (it's USPS-checked too), retry research or leave them out.

Questions about address finding
More in the full FAQ →
Can you find a business mailing address from just an email?
Yes. Scout identifies the person and their company, and researches the email's domain when no employer turns up. Gmail and similar mailboxes are never treated as a company.
Do you find home addresses?
No. Scout researches where a business publicly says it is. A home office that a small business publishes as its address can mail.
What does address finding cost?
One research credit per verified, mailable address. Held, failed and not-found results are free, and every plan includes a monthly allowance. See pricing.
What happens with remote employees?
Scout returns the office closest to the contact's city, or headquarters, and says which. You can add a better address for anyone.
