Up to 3 people per account · one letter each

When to run it

A letter for the accounts you can't afford to lose to the inbox.

ABM teams know who they want. A letter on the desk of each decision-maker, tied to one account plan, stands apart from the next email in the sequence.

Run it when

  • The account list is set and each account has an owner
  • Email and ads are already running
  • One meeting would pay for the mail

Skip it if

  • Your list is thousands of loosely fit accounts
  • Nobody owns the follow-up
  • You can't say why this account, and why now

The list you need

Contacts at your target accounts, one row each.

Pick the buying committee: the person who signs, the person who runs it day to day, and one or two who would use it.

Columns

  • Work email or LinkedIn URLRequired

Or a name with the company or domain.

  • Company and cityHelps

Scout picks the company office closest to the contact.

  • Record IDHelps

Kept as the Contact ID and passed to your landing page on a scan.

  • AccountNoteOptional

One line your team writes per account, merged into the letter.

Fictional rows. A record ID column becomes the Contact ID.

Export it from

HubSpot or Salesforce

A contacts report on your target accounts, with the record ID.

Clay or Apollo

A people search on your account list, as CSV. Clay rows can also arrive through an HTTP API column.

Tip. Write the AccountNote column before you upload. One honest line about the account beats any merge field.

The letter

Give the account a reason and a single ask.

Each person gets the same core letter with their name, company and your account line. Write it on the Headline + QR design.

  1. 01
    Why them, why now

Your account line, from the AccountNote column.

  2. 02
    One ask

A short meeting, with a QR code for anyone not ready to talk.

  3. 03
    A handwritten P.S.

    Points at the code.

Dear Grace,

I'm writing to a few people at Coldline Logistics because you're opening two cold-storage sites next year, and a new site's first month is where pick plans slip.

Fernway builds each new site a working pick plan before it opens, from the layout you already have.

I'd like to show you one built for a site like yours. Twenty minutes, with your ops lead.

Thank you,

Maya Lin

Head of Sales, Fernway

The follow-up

The letter opens the door. Your team follows up.

Line up the email and calls before the drop, so they land while the letter is still on the desk.

What to measure

Count accounts as well as letters.

Read delivery and scans in Mailyard, and meetings in your CRM, joined on the Contact ID.

Mail Analytics

Who scanned

When and on what device. Link scanners and proof scans are filtered out.

Scans CSV

Accounts engaged

Group scans by company to see which accounts responded.

Your CRM

Meetings and pipeline

Opportunities on these accounts, joined by Contact ID.

We don't publish benchmark response rates. Your first drop is your baseline.

Run it in Mailyard

The play, step by step.

  1. Upload and find offices

Scout picks the office closest to each contact's city, with sources.

  2. Verify with USPS

Proof checks each address with CASS and holds what won't deliver, with the reason.

  3. Write the letter

Write on the canvas, or apply a Quill draft on a fixed template.

  4. Approve and schedule

Approve 3 to 5 print proofs, pay the quote and pick a date at least 24 hours out.

  5. Track and share

Share a view-only Mail Analytics link with account owners.

Questions

More in the full FAQ →

Does direct mail work for account-based marketing?

It fits best when the list is short, deals are large and someone follows up fast. Per-contact QR codes show who at each account responded; we don't publish response rates, so your first drop is the baseline.

How do I find office addresses for contacts at target accounts?

Upload a work email, LinkedIn URL or name with company. Scout finds the company office closest to the contact (or headquarters), and Proof verifies it with USPS CASS.

How do I connect an ABM letter to the account in my CRM?

Keep the CRM record ID in your upload. It becomes the Contact ID on each scan, in the scans CSV and the scan.recorded webhook; there's no native CRM sync yet.

What does an ABM direct mail campaign cost?

From $1.89 per letter, depending on your plan, with print and postage included, plus $0.39 per added page, and credits only for verified, mailable addresses. See pricing.

Put your target accounts on paper.

Upload your account list and see how many contacts we can find and verify before you pay for postage.
