List built by your team · new company in the company column

When to run it

Your customers' champions take you with them. Help them do it.

Someone who loved your product already knows why it worked. A warm letter to their new office, from the team they worked with, is often the easiest first meeting in your pipeline.

Run it when

  • Your team has spotted a past champion in a new role
  • The new role is public
  • You can offer a setup call, template or reference

Skip it if

  • You don't know whether they liked the product
  • Their new company isn't a fit
  • You only have their old office

The list you need

You bring the list of who moved. Scout finds the new office.

Mailyard doesn't detect job changes. Your team knows who moved, from a CRM field, a Clay table or CS notes. Put the new company on each row.

Columns

  • NameRequired

For the greeting and the envelope.

  • New company or domainRequired

The new employer. This is what Scout researches.

  • City and stateHelps

So Scout picks the new company's closest office.

  • PreviousCompanyOptional

Where you worked together, merged into the letter.

Export the table, or send rows to a lead list through an HTTP API column.

Tip. Save the list in Leads and keep adding to it. Reusing a researched list costs no new credits.

Congratulate first. Offer help second.

Lead with the new role, name the work you did together, and offer something useful for their first months. Leave the pitch out.

Dear Hannah,

Congratulations on the new role at Ferrous Labs. We loved working with you at Tidewater Health, and we still point new customers to the rollout you led.

If customer onboarding is on your list for the first few months, I'd like to help with a setup call from the team that supported you before.

Either way, congratulations.

Warmly,

Sam Okoro

The follow-up

The people they worked with make the call.

Have the CSM or account manager who knew them sign the letter and own the follow-up.

What to measure

A small list, so count each reply.

Keep the record ID so a new deal ties back to the old customer.

Before you pay

New offices found

Champions with a verified office at the new company.

Mail Analytics

Returned letters

Check the city on the row and try again.

Run it in Mailyard

The play, step by step.

  1. Upload and find the new office

Scout picks the new company's office closest to the city on the row, or headquarters.

  2. Verify with USPS

Proof holds a missing suite with the reason, and suite repair can recover it.

  3. Write the letter

Give Quill a brief on the Personal note template, or write it on the canvas.

  4. Approve and schedule

Review the print proofs, pay the quote and pick a date at least 24 hours out.

  5. Track and catch up

Hand scans to the person who knew them.

Questions

More in the full FAQ →

How do I find past champions who changed jobs?

Mailyard doesn't detect job changes, so you bring the list from your CRM, a Clay table or a CS spreadsheet. Put the new company and city on each row.

How do I get a business address for someone who just started a new job?

Upload their name with the new company or domain, plus their city. Scout finds the new company's closest office with sources, and Proof verifies it with USPS.

Will you mail a champion at their home address?

No. Mailyard researches where the business publicly says it is, never where a person lives. A home office the company publishes as its business address can still mail.

What should a congratulations letter to a former customer say?

Congratulate them, name the work you did together and offer one useful thing for their first months. Sign it from the person they worked with.

Send your champions a letter at their new desk.

Upload the list of who moved and see how many new offices we can find and verify before you pay for postage.
